The Operational Challenges Facing a UAE FMCG Trading Company

Running a dual-channel FMCG business, simultaneously managing wholesale distribution and a retail store, created operational complexity that the company's existing tools could not handle effectively. Four core challenges were identified during TrueBays' initial assessment:

1. Fragmented Inventory Visibility: Stock levels across warehouses and the retail store were tracked separately. There was no real-time consolidated view of inventory, making it difficult to prevent stockouts or identify slow-moving items before they became a problem.

2. No Integration Between Wholesale and Retail: The wholesale distribution operation and the retail POS were completely disconnected. Sales from the retail store did not automatically update inventory records, meaning manual reconciliation was needed at the end of each day, adding time and introducing errors.

3. Lack of Financial Visibility Across the Business: Finance teams could not access a consolidated real-time view of the company's financial position. Reporting relied on data that was collected manually from different departments and consolidated at month-end, making timely business decisions difficult.

4. HR and Payroll Managed Outside the Core System: Employee data, attendance, and payroll were managed separately from the business operations platform, creating double-entry work and making it difficult to integrate workforce costs into financial reporting accurately.
