As the business grew, managing job costs across multiple projects using disconnected systems and spreadsheets became increasingly difficult. Why Standard ERP Systems Don't Work for the Marble & Stone Industry

The marble and granite industry has specific operational requirements that most off-the-shelf ERP systems are not designed to handle. Running a business that simultaneously manages raw stone procurement, custom fabrication, project-based installation contracts, and multiple client deliverables creates challenges that generic ERP modules cannot solve without customisation. Burj Marble faced four core problems:

1. No Job-Level Cost Visibility: Every installation project for Burj Marble is essentially a unique contract, with different stone materials, fabrication requirements, labour hours, and site conditions. Without a job costing module, there was no system to track the actual cost of each project against the quoted price. The business could not accurately determine which jobs were profitable and which were running over budget until after completion.

2. Inventory Tracking Did Not Match Stone Industry Workflows: Natural stone inventory involves slabs, cut pieces, offcuts, and finished products, none of which fit neatly into standard inventory categories.
