How is UAE Gratuity Calculated?
Under the new UAE Labour Law (Decree-Law No. 33), gratuity is calculated based on your Basic Salary (excluding allowances like housing or transport).
- Less than 1 year: No gratuity entitlement.
- 1 to 5 years: 21 days of basic salary for each year.
- Over 5 years: 30 days of basic salary for each additional year.
*Unpaid leave days are deducted from the total service period before calculation.
